Playing our part to befittingly honour ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

In a letter to all the friends in Aotearoa on 24 June, the National Spiritual Assembly has shared its hopes on how we can “walk the path of service in the footsteps of the beloved Master” during the One Year Plan. The letter is attached:

The National Assembly requests the friends to devote time to reading the letter and reflecting on its implications for their local and personal circumstances.

The wide-ranging letter highlights a number of momentous themes of the work to be pursued in this country in response to the Supreme Body’s call to action in its letter to the Baha’is of the World on 25 November 2020. The subheadings of the National Assembly’s letter are:

  • Transformation in the face of negative societal forces

  • Goal of participation

  • Drawing on the experience of the bicentenaries

  • ‘The ability to channel the release of tremendous spiritual energies for the advancement of the Cause’

  • Use of the arts

  • Setting personal goals

  • A year of profound reflection on the life of the Master and the strength of the Covenant

For your ready reference please find links below to three documents that are referred to in the letter, namely this year’s Ridván Message from the Universal House of Justice to the Bahá’ís of the world, the letter of the House of Justice dated 25 November 2020 to the Bahá'ís of the world, and a compilation titled “Timeless Legacy – Honouring the Master in letters of the Universal House of Justice 1995-2021” that was compiled at the request of the National Spiritual Assembly by the national secretariat.
