New website for Canadian Temple
Following the exciting announcement by the Universal House of Justice in April 2023 regarding the construction of a national Bahá’í House of Worship in Canada, a new website dedicated to its development has been launched. Reported in the Canadian Bahá’í News Service, "Bahá'í Canada," published by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada, this initiative marks a significant milestone in the journey toward the realisation of this sacred project.
Accessible at the button below, the website serves as an informative platform where visitors can explore the profound purpose of a Bahá’í Temple and stay updated on the ongoing project developments. It also serves as a central hub for inquiries related to the temple from the general public.
The chosen location for Canada’s National Bahá’í Temple is 7290 Leslie Street in Markham, Ontario, situated on land acquired by the Bahá’ís of Canada in 1968 with the vision of constructing a temple in the future. While initial groundwork has commenced to prepare the designated site for the eventual construction of the Temple, a specific design has yet to be finalised. Visitors to the newly launched website can explore the rich history of the temple site and gain insights into the ecological studies conducted as part of the ongoing planning process.
A short film, commissioned by the governing council of the Bahá’ís of Canada, is showcased on the website, offering viewers a glimpse into the historical and spiritual significance of the Temple, which will serve as a sanctuary for contemplation for all near the outskirts of Toronto. A film titled "A National Bahá'í House of Worship for Canada" is available on YouTube and can be viewed below.
The launch of this website signifies a pivotal moment in fostering awareness, engagement, and collective participation as the Bahá’ís of Canada journey towards the realisation of the National Mashriqu’l-Adhkár.
