Every devotional gathering established is a “much-needed response to humanity’s growing estrangement from the Source of hope and bounty” that kindles the flame of love in the heart.

The National Assembly is confident that by each individual’s wholehearted efforts, however humble, in the community-building process in our country, we will witness, day by day, a greater contrast between this emerging pattern of community life and the decaying social order around us.

The National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Australia has sent a loving letter to its sister Assembly to convey its deep solidarity and earnest prayers at this time in the lives of our two nations following the Christchurch tragedy.

Following the establishment of the Bahá'í International Development Organisation at the Bahá'í World Centre, the National Assembly wrote to the Universal House of Justice to convey its profound gratitude and joy.

On 10 February 2019, over 389 individuals gathered in 14 locations to participate in unit conventions. 
At these conventions, the Bahá’ís vote by secret ballot for delegates who are duly responsible to elect the nine persons to serve on the National Spiritual Assembly for the term of one administrative year.

As the New Zealand nation goes through a period of reflection and soul searching, myriad opportunities are opened before the friends to cast the light of Bahá’u’lláh’s Revelation ever wider.

The National Spiritual Assembly addresses “each dear soul who has conscientiously honoured the divine system of the Bahá’í electoral and consultative process by being present at your Unit Convention.“ It directs their eyes, hearts and minds towards the three recent “magnificent messages” from the Supreme Institution and offers reflection questions to stimulate consultation.

Some 900 friends participated in the North and South Island Bahá’í Summer Schools held December 2018 and January 2019. Many participants were inspired to take action over the coming months, and nearly 500 specific acts of service were pledged.

The principle that governs the functioning of all Bahá'í institutions is service to the needs and well-being of the community, and Summer Schools are no exception.

The recent Twin Holy Birthdays provided an opportunity for individuals, families and communities to create celebrations “that uplift hearts and kindle spirits.”
